A working notebook, published. We write things down to think more clearly and to be able to check later whether our reasoning held up.

Why an engineering team writes about investing
For the same reason we write about anything: we build tools for the problems we have. Most published investing content is either marketing for a product or a signal service with no track record. We would rather show the process, including where it failed, and let you judge it. If that is useful to you, good. If you want advice, speak to someone licensed to give it.
On the tools
The tools here are the ones we built for ourselves — screeners, trackers, and analysis scripts. They compute things; they do not decide anything. Any tool that outputs a number invites you to trust the number more than it deserves, and we try to document the assumptions rather than hide them behind an interface.

- You can read what we do and why. Whether it suits you depends on your circumstances, time horizon, and tolerance for loss — which we know nothing about. Past results, ours included, do not predict future ones.
- Why publish this at all?
- Writing forces clarity, and publishing forces honesty about the decisions that went wrong. The archive is more useful to us than to anyone else; it is public because there is no reason for it not to be.
